The Arlberg connection line opened in winter 2016/17
For quite a long time, the Arlberg region has stood out as a pioneer in winter sports.
In the winter season of 2016/17, the latest chapter of this story was written: The new connecting cable cars between Zürs and Stuben / Rauz, the newly constructed Trittkopfbahn I and II as well as Albonabahn II, in 2016, they all linked the new middle station, from where skiers either continue to the new Trittkopf II mountain station or with the new Flexenbahn to Alpe Rauz in Stuben. The new cable car Albonabahn II also invites you to continue skiing in Stuben. In addition, skiers coming from Alpe Rauz can easily explore the skiing areas of St. Christoph and St. Anton.
Going in opposite direction, they’ll take Flexenbahn from Stuben / Rauz to Trittkopf middle or mountain station and arrive in Zürs. From there, skiers can catch Lech and, by going even further, they’ll get as far as Warth-Schröcken.
This way, Ski Arlberg becomes Austria’s largest joint ski resort, amounting to s305 km of ski runs and 88 lifts and cable cars!
Every Ski Arlberg destination can be reached on skis in a fast, easy and highly comfortable way!
Also, there is a new, grand course: the "Run of Fame". With a total of 65 downhill kilometres, this run gives you the utmost skiing experience! It leads across the entire Arlberg and demonstrates the extraordinary dimensions of the now completely connected ski area: from Warth in the north
via Lech / Zürs with the new Flexenbahn to St. Anton / Rendl in the south –
in passing, take the entire Ski Arlberg resort.
Mastering one such round across the Arlberg, say, from Warth to St. Anton and back again,
takes the average skier almost all day!
One of the best skiing areas in the world
The winter sports portal skigebiete-test.com have checked out a number of ski resorts
around the world and nominated their favourites. Ski Arlberg convinced them
to the extent that they call it one of the top ski resorts so far.
What you have known all along, finally went public!
In a recent article, the CNN - America's largest news station - listed the top 10 ski resort insider tips for all of Europe. This list reads like the who is who of winter sports destinations, among them Warth-Schröcken labelled a “treasure”. The CNN chose Ski Arlberg as one of the top ten insider ski resorts in all Europe, alongside big place names such as Val d'Anniviers, Champoluc, Sainte Foy, Hochkönig, Andermatt, Pralognan-la-Vanoise, Serfaus, Baqueira-Beret or Riksgransen.
"The Arlberg region itself is an Austrian icon," the CNN says. "Huge, full of character and the home of Alpine gems like St. Anton and Lech / Zürs." On closer inspection, however, one would find another, yet undiscovered treasure: Warth / Schröcken.
The CNN not only talks about the ski resort’s benefits, i.e. its slopes are not overrun and price levels are moderate, but also reports on historical happenings, such as the village’s settlement. In addition, the newly connected ski slopes & runs and the ultimate "conquest" of the Arlberg are being reported about.
