And so the circle is completed: new connecting mountain railway at the Arlberg opens in winter 2016/17

Ever since the Arlberg is known for its pioneering spirit in winter sports.
In the winter season 2016/17 a new chapter is written in its history: Thanks to the new connecting mountain railway between Zürs and Stuben/Rauz, as well as the newly built Trittkopfbahnen I and II and the Albonabahn II in the 2016 the circle is completed - the Trittkopfbahn I goes from Zürs to the new intermediate station and from there skiers can either choose to continue to the mountain station of the Trittkopfbahn II or they can go on with the new Flexenbahn to Alpe Rauz in Stuben. In Stuben the new Albonabahn II invites to continue. Moreover, skiers are able to comfortably explore the ski areas St. Christoph and St. Anton by starting from the Alpe Rauz. The other way round you can also use the Flexenbahn from Stuben/Rauz to go to the intermediate station or the mountain station of the Trittkopfbahn and thus also to Zürs. From there skiers can go to Lech and even further to Warth-Schröcken turing the ski resort Ski Arlberg into the biggest connected ski area in Austria by providing 305 km of ski pistes as well as 87 lifts and mountain railways!

Everything will then be easily, fast and comfortably accessible by skis in the Arlberg ski area.
At the same time a fantastic new ski round developes: The "Run of Fame" provides the most brilliant and exciting ski adventure on 65 km! The ski tour takes you through the whole Arlberg ski area depicting the vast connected ski area: Ski from Warth in the North via Lech Zürs with the new Flexenbahn to St. Anton/Rendl in the South and explore the whole ski area Ski Arlberg. An intermediate skier probably needs nearly one day to master such a ski round at the Arlberg, e.g. from Warth to St. Anton and back.

Look forward to it!

What we all knew for long and which has now been published!

CNN, Americas biggest news channel, listed the 10 best insider ski resorts in Europe in his latest article. And guess what: Warth-Schröcken is one of these secret "jewels".

It lists the who is who of winter sport destinations. Famous ski resorts such as Val d'Anniviers, Champoluc, Sainte Foy, Hochkönig, Andermatt, Pralognan-la-Vanoise, Serfaus, Baqueira-Beret or Riksgransen were selected by CNN as the Top Ten "Insider Ski Resorts" in Europe.

"The Arlberg region by itself is an icon in Austria", according to CNN. "Vast, full of character and home of gorgeous villages such as St. Anton and Lech/Zürs." However, if you have a closer look there's another, yet unexplored natural gem - namely Warth/Schröcken.

The article is about the ski region but does not only highlight the advantages such as uncrowded pistes and the low prices in the village, but also has a closer look on the history of the village when the Walser populated the region. Moreover, the article reports about the new ski connection and the ultimate "conquer" of the Arlberg.
